We are very happy with MI Homesiding's workmanship and dedication to achieve the best results for our Hardyboard residing. Mel answered our calls promptly; addressing and tending to any question we had. As with any home renovation, we ran into minor issues when we removed the siding the flashing was old and damaged. MI siding was more than happy to give us a fair estimate and replace the flashing to the siding. Porta-potty & dumpster were dropped off immediately prior to process, and removed with equal precision. Workers were diligent maintaining a safe & clean work area; cleaning remnant debris on last day. We recommended MI to our neighbors, and are having them back to caulk & paint. They did an excellent job at a fair price.Posted on Ramon matamorosTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. MI Home Siding LLC did an excellent job on my home. ak Ridge roofs carry a unique history.
Many homes here date back to the 1940s — original federal builds with low-slope roof sections, aging decking, and decades of patches stacked on top of each other.
Other Oak Ridge homes were built in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Those roofs are now hitting end-of-life — curled shingles, lifted edges, failed flashing around chimneys, and soft decking from years of slow leaks.
Newer subdivisions face a different problem — rushed installs, missing kick-out flashing, and ventilation that was wrong from day one.
We do not treat roofing as just shingles on a deck. We inspect the full system — decking, underlayment, flashing, ventilation, valleys, pipe boots, edges, and hidden damage — because that is what lasts in Oak Ridge weather.
We provide complete roofing services across Oak Ridge and Anderson County:

Most roofing problems in Oak Ridge start with water and aging materials.
Historic 1940s federal homes: original low-slope roof sections, aging decking, failed flashing at chimneys, and decades-old patches that no longer hold up.
70s–90s neighborhoods: curled shingles, granule loss, lifted edges after wind events, soft fascia, and trim damage from years of gutter overflow.
Newer subdivisions: improper installation, missing kick-out flashing at wall-to-roof transitions, poor attic ventilation, and ridge vent details that were rushed.
If your roof leaks after storms or heavy rain, the problem may need roof leak detection and repair before any new shingles go down.
If shingles are loose or missing, the issue often connects to shingles blowing off from poor fastening on a previous install.
Choosing the right roof in Oak Ridge depends on the home age, the roof pitch, the exposure, and the long-term goal.
A historic low-slope section, a steep ridge on a 90s build, and a modern subdivision roof do not age the same.
| Roofing Type | Best For | Lifespan |
|---|---|---|
| 🏠 Asphalt Shingle Roofing | Most residential homes | 20–30 yrs |
| 🔥 Metal Roofing | Strong exposure, premium homes | 40–60 yrs |
| 🌧️ Flat / Low-Slope Roofing | Historic sections, additions | 20–30 yrs |
| ⚖️ Shingle vs Metal Comparison | Homeowners deciding | Varies |
We help you choose the roof that fits the home — not the one that is easiest to sell.

Oak Ridge sits in a valley surrounded by ridges that trap humidity and create heavy rainfall patterns.
That position pushes roofs harder than in flatter parts of Tennessee. More moisture in the attic, longer wet seasons, and stronger wind funneling through the valleys.
A roof can look fine from the ground and still hide weak flashing, poor ventilation, missing kick-out details, or soft decking underneath.
We install roofing with proper underlayment, flashing at every transition, correct fastening, balanced attic ventilation, and clean drainage details.
When flashing is the weak point, we connect the repair with proper roof flashing repair. If the leak is near a chimney, we inspect for chimney flashing repair before recommending the next step.
A low roofing quote in Oak Ridge usually means shortcuts in places the homeowner cannot see.
Cheap roof installs reuse old flashing, skip proper underlayment, use weak fastening, ignore attic ventilation, or cover soft decking instead of replacing it.
The roof looks finished the day the crew leaves. The next storm or humid summer exposes the same problems.
Most of the roofing jobs we redo in Oak Ridge started as a cheap install from another contractor who never inspected the real cause. See our improper roof installation repair page for more.

If we find rotted decking, damaged sheathing, framing issues, or moisture damage during a roofing project, we stop and document the problem with photos.
We explain what we found and why it matters.
If extra work is needed, we provide a written Change Order before moving forward.
We never cover hidden damage under new shingles, metal panels, or any roofing material.
Oak Ridge roofs are not standard. The original federal builds, the older suburbs, and the newer developments each need a different roofing approach.
We inspect roofing, flashing, decking, gutters, fascia, siding, attic ventilation, and drainage when water is involved.
If attic heat or moisture is part of the problem, we may review attic ventilation systems before any shingles go down.
If gutter overflow is pushing water back toward the roof edge or fascia, we also inspect the gutter system — because fixing the roof without fixing the drainage just resets the clock on the same leak.
Our team personally reviews project details, material takeoffs, and repair plans before work begins.
We provide owner-led inspections, itemized estimates, root-cause repairs, clean job sites, and final walkthroughs.
