Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mel was so easy to work with. We had him out because we needed to figure out how to fix a roof leak where the flashing wasn't done right (and part of the siding was also not right). He did a thorough inspection and explained to me what issues he saw. His quote was similar to the other we got.

We ended up having him put on a new roof, with a new under shingle ventilation system and a roof vent. He also corrected siding issues (and flashing), fixed some rotten trim, and repainted part of the siding and trim. Everything looks great! His crews were very nice.

Of all the contractors we've worked with on various renovations, Mel was easily one of the best at quickly responding when we had a question or saw an issue we wanted handled differently. We'll definitely hire him again if we need roof or siding work!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found MI Homesiding & Roofing through their YouTube channel and called with a few questions about siding. Even though I’m not located in Tennessee and wouldn’t be hiring them directly, they answered the phone right away and took the time to answer every question in detail. They provided specific, helpful information and even assisted me in finding a contractor in my area.

It’s rare to find a company so willing to help someone who isn’t even a local customer. Awesome people, excellent service, and truly knowledgeable. Thank you so much!

Frequently Asked Questions – Norris, TN

Do you provide exterior remodeling services in Norris, TN?

Yes. We work with homeowners in Norris on siding, roofing, decks, gutters, painting, and window projects.

What exterior problems are common in Norris homes?

In Norris, we often see moisture issues, roof leaks after storms, aging siding, deck wear, and drainage problems caused by heavy rain and humidity.

Do you offer siding and roofing repairs, or only full replacements?

We provide both. If repairs are the right solution, we’ll recommend that instead of pushing a full replacement.

Can you fix leaks caused by poor installation or flashing?

Yes. Many exterior problems in Norris come from improper flashing or rushed work, and we focus on fixing the root cause.

Do you offer free estimates in Norris, TN?

Yes. We provide clear, no-pressure estimates so homeowners know exactly what their project needs.

Built for Norris Weather

Norris was laid out by the TVA in the 1930s and the tree canopy has had ninety years to grow in. Most of the town sits in permanent shade, and shade is the reason roofs here look older than they are: north slopes stay wet, moss and algae take hold, and shingle granules let go faster than on an open lot.

The original homes add a second problem. Narrow eaves and older framing details leave little room for ventilation, so attic moisture has nowhere to go once it condenses.

On Norris homes we check the shaded slopes and the attic before quoting anything, because a roof that looks failed from the street is often a ventilation problem, not a shingle problem.

Why Cheap Exterior Work Fails in Norris

In Norris the cheap roof is a shingle swap on a house that never had enough ventilation to begin with.

New shingles over an attic that cannot exhaust moisture will fail the way the last ones did, on the same slope, on roughly the same schedule. The shingle was never the problem. Under this much tree cover the deck never gets to dry from above, so it has to dry from below, and it cannot.

We look in the attic before quoting a Norris roof, because the fix is often intake and exhaust, not shingles.

Hidden Damage Policy

If structural rot, hidden water damage, or compromised framing is discovered during the project, we stop and document the problem with photos. We explain what we found and why it matters, then provide a written Change Order before moving forward.

We never cover hidden damage with new work.
