I found MI Homesiding & Roofing through their YouTube channel and called with a few questions about siding. Even though I’m not located in Tennessee and wouldn’t be hiring them directly, they answered the phone right away and took the time to answer every question in detail. They provided specific, helpful information and even assisted me in finding a contractor in my area. It’s rare to find a company so willing to help someone who isn’t even a local customer. Awesome people, excellent service, and truly knowledgeable. Thank you so much!Posted on Google![]()

We are very happy with MI Homesiding's workmanship and dedication to achieve the best results for our Hardyboard residing. Mel answered our calls promptly; addressing and tending to any question we had. As with any home renovation, we ran into minor issues when we removed the siding the flashing was old and damaged. MI siding was more than happy to give us a fair estimate and replace the flashing to the siding. Porta-potty & dumpster were dropped off immediately prior to process, and removed with equal precision. Workers were diligent maintaining a safe & clean work area; cleaning remnant debris on last day. We recommended MI to our neighbors, and are having them back to caulk & paint. They did an excellent job at a fair price.Posted on Google![]()

MI Home Siding LLC did an excellent job on my home. Mel Hernandez and his crew worked on my siding, roofing, gutters, and exterior painting. They showed up on time, explained everything clearly, and completed the work as promised. The quality of the work was great, and they treated my home with care and respect. I really appreciated their honesty and communication throughout the project. I highly recommend MI Home Siding LLC to anyone looking for exterior work in Knoxville.”
Loudon roofs work harder than most.
Heavy rain off Tellico and Fort Loudoun Lake, humid summers, sudden storms, and freeze-thaw cycles all push roofing systems past what cheap installs can handle.
Small problems become big ones fast here. A lifted shingle, a failed pipe boot, or bad flashing around a chimney can move water into the attic before the homeowner sees a single stain on the ceiling.
We do not treat roofing as just shingles on a deck. We inspect the full system — decking, underlayment, flashing, ventilation, valleys, pipe boots, edges, gutters, and hidden damage — because that is what lasts in Loudon weather.
We provide complete roofing services across Loudon and the surrounding lake-area communities:

Most roofing problems in Loudon start with water.
We often find lifted shingles after wind events, failed pipe boots leaking around HVAC penetrations, bad chimney flashing pushing water down the wall, soft decking from years of slow leaks, and roof edges that were never detailed correctly.
Lake-area moisture and long humid summers keep attic spaces damp longer than in flatter parts of Tennessee. That moisture wears out shingles faster and feeds rot in decking and fascia.
If your roof leaks after storms or heavy rain, the problem may need roof leak detection and repair before any new shingles go down.
If shingles are loose or missing, the issue often connects to shingles blowing off from poor fastening on a previous install.

Choosing the right roof in Loudon depends on the home, the pitch, the exposure, and the long-term goal.
A shaded roof under trees, an open roof near the lake, and a low-slope addition do not age the same.
We help you choose the roof that fits the home — not the one that is easiest to sell.
| Roofing Type | Best For | Lifespan |
|---|---|---|
| 🏠 Asphalt Shingle Roofing | Most residential homes | 20–30 yrs |
| 🔥 Metal Roofing | Strong exposure, lake-area homes | 40–60 yrs |
| 🌧️ Flat / Low-Slope Roofing | Additions, porches | 20–30 yrs |
| ⚖️ Shingle vs Metal Comparison | Homeowners deciding | Varies |

Loudon sits between Tellico Lake and Fort Loudoun Lake.
That position brings heavier rainfall, higher humidity, stronger wind patterns off the water, and storms that arrive faster than crews can usually plan for.
A roof can look fine from the ground and still hide weak flashing, poor ventilation, missing kick-out details, or soft decking underneath.
We install roofing with proper underlayment, flashing at every transition, correct fastening, balanced attic ventilation, and clean drainage details.
When flashing is the weak point, we connect the repair with proper roof flashing repair. If the leak is near a chimney, we inspect for chimney flashing repair before recommending the next step.

A low roofing quote in Loudon usually means shortcuts in places the homeowner cannot see.
Cheap roof installs reuse old flashing, skip proper underlayment, use weak fastening, ignore attic ventilation, or cover soft decking instead of replacing it.
The roof looks finished the day the crew leaves. The next storm or humid summer exposes the same problems that were supposed to be fixed.
Most of the roofing jobs we redo in Loudon started as a cheap install from another contractor who never inspected the real cause. See our improper roof installation repair page for more.

Loudon roofs are not standard. Lake exposure, varied roof pitches, and long humid seasons mean the roof system has to be built to a higher level of detail than most contractors deliver.
We inspect roofing, flashing, decking, gutters, fascia, siding, attic ventilation, and drainage when water is involved.
If attic heat or moisture is part of the problem, we may review attic ventilation systems before any shingles go down.
If gutter overflow is pushing water back toward the roof edge or fascia, we also inspect the gutter system — because fixing the roof without fixing the drainage just resets the clock on the same leak.
Our team personally reviews project details, material takeoffs, and repair plans before work begins.
We provide owner-led inspections, itemized estimates, root-cause repairs, clean job sites, and final walkthroughs.

Whether your home is near the lake, in town, or on rural property, we inspect the roof's actual exposure before recommending repair or replacement.

Yes. We handle roof repairs for leaks, missing shingles, storm damage, flashing issues, pipe boots, roof edges, and other common roofing problems.
It depends on the age of the roof, the number of leaks, decking condition, and how many areas are failing. If a targeted repair solves the real issue, we recommend repair. If the roof is failing in multiple areas, replacement is usually the better long-term choice.
The most common problems are roof leaks, lifted shingles, failed flashing, soft decking, poor attic ventilation, storm damage, gutter overflow, and water entering around chimneys or pipe boots. Lake-area humidity and heavy rain accelerate many of these issues.
Yes. We install both metal roofing and asphalt shingle roofing. Metal roofing is often a strong option for homes with higher exposure to wind, rain, and lake-area weather — but it is not the right answer for every home, and we explain when shingle is the better choice.
If we find rotted or soft decking during the project, we stop and document it with photos. We explain the scope and provide a written Change Order before continuing. We never cover damaged decking under new roofing.
Yes. On-site roof inspections are free for standard roofing projects in Loudon. For complex inspections involving hidden damage, attic access, moisture mapping, or multiple exterior systems, we offer a $350 Technical Assessment that is credited back if you move forward with the project.
If your Loudon home has roof leaks, missing shingles, storm damage, soft decking, bad flashing, or signs of moisture inside, acting early can prevent larger structural repairs later.
