MI Homesiding & Roofing
Comparing gutter quotes? The first thing worth asking is which office inspects your address — because in Blount County there are three answers.
Seamless gutter installation, repair and guards across Maryville and Blount County, with the scope in writing before anything starts.
Most of what people search for in Maryville is not a technique. It is a contractor — installers, repair companies, who does gutter work here. So this page starts there rather than with a sales pitch.
Blount County is unusual, and it matters when you hire. Three different code jurisdictions sit inside a few miles of each other, and a contractor who does not know which one covers your address will guess at the part that gets inspected. Inside the Maryville city limits, the city enforces its own adopted codes through its Codes Enforcement office. Step outside the limits into unincorporated Blount County and it is a different office with a different adopted edition. Alcoa, next door, is different again.

Mel was so easy to work with. We had him out because we needed to figure out how to fix a roof leak where the flashing wasn't done right (and part of the siding was also not right). He did a thorough inspection and explained to me what issues he saw. His quote was similar to the other we got. We ended up having him put on a new roof, with a new under shingle ventilation system and a roof vent. He also corrected siding issues (and flashing), fixed some rotten trim, and repainted part of the siding and trim. Everything looks great! His crews were very nice. Of all the contractors we've worked with on various renovations, Mel was easily one of the best at quickly responding when we had a question or saw an issue we wanted handled differently. We'll definitely hire him again if we need roof or siding work!Posted on Google![]()

Mel and his team were extremely thorough in identifying and correcting a water leakage problem from the top of our deck into the enclosed sun room below. They were both professional and courteous and provided great follow up after the job was completed. I highly recommend MI Homesiding & Roofing for any problem that involves water leakage into your home. I will definitely use MI in the future.Posted on Google![]()

Highly recommend MI Homesiding! They completed a major home exterior project for us including replacing and painting our siding as well as replacing our roofing and gutters. They did an excellent job and we began getting compliments immediately from our neighbors about it! Mel was very communicative and proactive, listened to our questions and ideas, and took care of things in a timely manner. His team was always professional and the work is just superb! We not only recommend MI Homesiding, we will be using them again for future projects ourselves.Posted on Google![]()

I found MI Homesiding & Roofing through their YouTube channel and called with a few questions about siding. Even though I’m not located in Tennessee and wouldn’t be hiring them directly, they answered the phone right away and took the time to answer every question in detail. They provided specific, helpful information and even assisted me in finding a contractor in my area. It’s rare to find a company so willing to help someone who isn’t even a local customer. Awesome people, excellent service, and truly knowledgeable. Thank you so much!Posted on Google![]()

A gutter quote that arrives without anyone having been on the property is a price for metal, not for a drainage system. These are the things we take down first, and they are the things that decide whether the system keeps up.
Out of those measurements comes the size. There is no rule that says a Maryville house needs six-inch gutters; a six-inch K-style does hold materially more and takes a larger outlet, and we recommend it where the geometry and expected volume justify it. On a simple roof with enough outlets, five inch is often right and costs less.
Gutter guards are the most heavily marketed product in this trade, often by companies that fit nothing else. If you are comparing quotes in Maryville, it is worth knowing what a guard is and what it is not before the pitch arrives.
A guard is a filter. It reduces how often a run has to be cleared, and on a house under mature cover that is worth real money over a few years. What it is not is capacity. It does not widen the trough, add an outlet, or change how fast water can leave the system — and a few designs restrict how much can get in during the heaviest rain, which is why a guarded run that is spotless inside can still send water over the front.
So if someone proposes guards as the fix for overflow, the useful question is what they measured before proposing it. If the run was already short of outlets for the roof draining into it, a guard will not help and may make what happens in a downpour worse.
We fit guards where they earn their place and say so plainly where they would be covering something else. We do not make lifetime or no-clog claims, and no guard removes maintenance entirely. See gutter guards for how we approach them, or gutter cleaning if clearing what you already have is the real job.
A good share of the calls that begin as "I need new gutters" do not end that way, and we would rather say so on the first visit.
One leaking seam, a downspout that has separated at the elbow, a length flattened by a limb, an outlet in the wrong place — those are repairs. So is a run that is holding water or tipping forward, provided the trough is sound and the board behind it is solid: resetting the fall and adding outlets where they are needed usually brings the whole system back for a fraction of replacement.
Replacement earns its place when the metal is finished — corroded through, split repeatedly at the seams, deformed — or when it is genuinely undersized for the roof draining into it, or when the fascia has to come off anyway. See gutter repair, sagging gutter repair and gutter replacement.
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Seamless gutter, supplied and installed | $15.25 / linear foot |
| Downspout, supplied and installed | $15.25 / linear foot |
| Each elbow | Counts as 1 ft |
| Technical Assessment, if one is needed | $350, credited back |
Elbows count as a foot each instead of being priced as separate parts, which is what makes a quote checkable against the measurements of your own house. If you are comparing bids, ask the others how elbows and outlets are priced — it is a common place for a low headline figure to grow.
The $350 Technical Assessment is not charged on every job. It is for cases that need investigating rather than quoting, and it comes off the price in full if you go ahead. For how gutter pricing works generally, see gutter cost.
Financing is available through a third-party lender for homeowners who would rather spread the cost. Approval, rates and terms are set by the lender, not by us, and we make no promise about what you will be offered.
On standard projects we take 33% at signing, with the balance structured around the work and set out in writing before anything starts.
Short version, because the detail belongs on one page rather than three. Inside the Maryville city limits, the city adopted the 2024 code editions on 2 December 2025, effective 1 January 2026, with local modifications, and permits run through Codes Enforcement at 416 W. Broadway Avenue, (865) 273-3500. Outside the limits, unincorporated Blount County is on the 2018 editions through Development Services at 303 McGhee Street, (865) 681-9301. Alcoa, next door, is on the 2018 International Residential Code and runs its own office.
On whether gutter work needs a permit: none of those offices publishes a list that mentions gutters, soffit or fascia one way or the other, and we are not going to tell you it is exempt on their behalf. Where it becomes a fair question we raise it and ask, rather than assuming.
Our Maryville exterior contractor page goes through the city-versus-county split in full, including what changed when the 2024 editions took effect.
Ask what each one includes rather than what each one costs. How many outlets per run and where; where the downspouts discharge; how elbows are priced; what happens if the fascia is rotten; and what the warranty covers. A low headline figure with none of that specified usually grows.
It depends which side of the city line you are on. Inside Maryville it is the city's Codes Enforcement; outside the limits it is Blount County Development Services; Alcoa runs its own. None of them publishes a rule that names gutters specifically, so we ask rather than assume.
It comes out of the measurements, not a rule. Roof area draining into the run, how steep it is, how concentrated the water gets, outlet size, and how many downspouts there are and where. Six inch holds materially more and takes a bigger outlet, and we recommend it where the geometry justifies it.
A guard is a filter, not capacity. Under mature tree cover it saves real money on clearing over a few years. It will not widen the trough or add an outlet, so if guards are being pitched to you as the cure for overflow, ask what was measured first.
Often, and we will say so. A seam, a separated downspout, a damaged length or a misplaced outlet are repairs. If the trough is sound and the board behind it is solid, re-hanging to a measured fall usually brings the system back.
Five years on a replacement and one year on a repair. It covers our workmanship and is not transferable. Any manufacturer warranty on the material is separate and comes from the manufacturer on their terms.

We install, repair and replace gutters across Maryville and Blount County — the older streets near downtown, the subdivisions off the highways, and the properties out toward the foothills — and in the communities around it: Alcoa, Rockford, Louisville and Walland.
Working on more than the gutters? Our Maryville exterior contractor page covers the whole exterior, and there are dedicated pages for roofing in Maryville and siding in Maryville. For how the system works in general, see our gutter services page.
Tell us what the water is doing and we will come and measure it. If a repair will hold, that is what we will quote.
