Gutters and downspouts must work together to move rainwater away from your home. If the gutter collects water but the downspout is clogged, loose, broken, or draining too close to the foundation, the full system fails. MI Homesiding & Roofing provides gutter and downspout repair in Knoxville TN for leaks, overflow, sagging sections, blocked downspouts, loose connections, and poor drainage.
We Do What We Say. We do not repair one visible problem and ignore the rest of the system. A gutter leak may be caused by bad pitch, a clogged downspout, weak fascia, loose hangers, or water backing up from a blocked outlet. Our goal is to find the cause, not just the symptom, and repair the gutter and downspout path that is failing.

Knoxville homes deal with heavy rain, humidity, leaves, and storm debris that can stress the gutter system fast. When gutters and downspouts stop working together, water can spill over the roofline, run behind fascia, stain siding, or collect near the foundation. We inspect the gutter run, downspout connection, outlets, elbows, straps, and drainage exit point before recommending the repair. A strong repair starts with knowing where the water is failing.

Mel was so easy to work with. We had him out because we needed to figure out how to fix a roof leak where the flashing wasn't done right (and part of the siding was also not right). He did a thorough inspection and explained to me what issues he saw. His quote was similar to the other we got. We ended up having him put on a new roof, with a new under shingle ventilation system and a roof vent. He also corrected siding issues (and flashing), fixed some rotten trim, and repainted part of the siding and trim. Everything looks great! His crews were very nice. Of all the contractors we've worked with on various renovations, Mel was easily one of the best at quickly responding when we had a question or saw an issue we wanted handled differently. We'll definitely hire him again if we need roof or siding work!Posted on Google![]()

I found MI Homesiding & Roofing through their YouTube channel and called with a few questions about siding. Even though I’m not located in Tennessee and wouldn’t be hiring them directly, they answered the phone right away and took the time to answer every question in detail. They provided specific, helpful information and even assisted me in finding a contractor in my area. It’s rare to find a company so willing to help someone who isn’t even a local customer. Awesome people, excellent service, and truly knowledgeable. Thank you so much!Posted on Google![]()

Leaks and clogs are often connected. A clogged downspout can make water back up into the gutter and leak at seams, corners, or end caps. Loose connections can also separate during storms and send water straight down the wall. We check for blocked elbows, weak joints, separated downspouts, leaking corners, and loose hangers. The repair should restore water flow from the gutter to the final discharge point.

Sometimes the gutter and the downspout are both doing their job and the water still ends up in the wrong place — beside the foundation, across a walkway, or into a bed that washes out every storm. That is a discharge problem rather than a repair, and it is corrected differently.
We check the discharge direction while we are on site. If that is what is actually wrong, see downspout drainage and discharge correction. If the house needs another outlet or a relocated run, see downspout installation.
If the run holds standing water, the downspout never gets a chance to work. That is usually pitch or support rather than the downspout itself, so it is a different repair — though we check it on every downspout call, because a clear downspout on a sagging run will still overflow.
Where the run has dropped or pulled away, see sagging gutter repair. Where the run is holding debris, see clogged gutter repair. If you are not sure which of those it is, start at the gutter repair hub and work down from the symptom.

A downspout repair is covered work. We fix the cause we find, not just the symptom that brought us out.
If rotted fascia, soffit damage or hidden water intrusion turns up once we have access, we stop, document it with photos, explain what we found, and issue a written Change Order before any further work. Nothing gets closed back up without you seeing it first.
Downspout is priced by the linear foot, and each elbow counts as one linear foot. See the gutter cost page for the current rate and the ballpark calculator.
