MI Homesiding & Roofing
Overflowing in a hard rain? Sagging between the brackets? Water finding the foundation?
Seamless gutters, downspouts, repairs and leaf protection across Corryton — sized to the roof that drains into them, priced by the foot on your house, and hung on fascia we have checked first.
The three things people call us about in Corryton look similar from the ground and have different causes. Water pouring over the front edge in a downpour is usually capacity — too much roof draining into one run, or too few outlets for the water arriving. Water dripping behind the gutter is usually the drip edge or the fascia. A run that sags between brackets is usually the hangers, or the board they were screwed into.
So we start by measuring what drains into each run and looking at the board behind it. Then we tell you plainly whether it needs clearing, re-hanging, re-sizing or replacing — with photographs of what we found and the scope in writing before anything starts.

Mel was so easy to work with. We had him out because we needed to figure out how to fix a roof leak where the flashing wasn't done right (and part of the siding was also not right). He did a thorough inspection and explained to me what issues he saw. His quote was similar to the other we got. We ended up having him put on a new roof, with a new under shingle ventilation system and a roof vent. He also corrected siding issues (and flashing), fixed some rotten trim, and repainted part of the siding and trim. Everything looks great! His crews were very nice. Of all the contractors we've worked with on various renovations, Mel was easily one of the best at quickly responding when we had a question or saw an issue we wanted handled differently. We'll definitely hire him again if we need roof or siding work!Posted on Google![]()

Mel and his team were extremely thorough in identifying and correcting a water leakage problem from the top of our deck into the enclosed sun room below. They were both professional and courteous and provided great follow up after the job was completed. I highly recommend MI Homesiding & Roofing for any problem that involves water leakage into your home. I will definitely use MI in the future.Posted on Google![]()

Highly recommend MI Homesiding! They completed a major home exterior project for us including replacing and painting our siding as well as replacing our roofing and gutters. They did an excellent job and we began getting compliments immediately from our neighbors about it! Mel was very communicative and proactive, listened to our questions and ideas, and took care of things in a timely manner. His team was always professional and the work is just superb! We not only recommend MI Homesiding, we will be using them again for future projects ourselves.Posted on Google![]()

I found MI Homesiding & Roofing through their YouTube channel and called with a few questions about siding. Even though I’m not located in Tennessee and wouldn’t be hiring them directly, they answered the phone right away and took the time to answer every question in detail. They provided specific, helpful information and even assisted me in finding a contractor in my area. It’s rare to find a company so willing to help someone who isn’t even a local customer. Awesome people, excellent service, and truly knowledgeable. Thank you so much!Posted on Google![]()

Our Own Warranty on the Work
Five years on a complete replacement and one year on a repair, covering how it was installed — our labor and our details.
Gutter size is not a style choice and it is not the same on every house. What a run can carry depends on four things, and we work through them in this order:
Six-inch with larger outlets is the right answer on some Corryton homes and unnecessary on others. It earns its place where a large or steep roof area concentrates into one run, or where the run is long and the outlets are few. Plenty of houses here are well served by five-inch with the outlets in the right places. We measure the contributing roof area first and then say which one your house needs, rather than quoting the wider trough to everybody.
A gutter hung too low catches less of a fast-moving sheet of water; hung too high it can take rain behind it. The drip edge has to land inside the trough, and on a roof-to-wall transition the kick-out has to throw water out over the gutter instead of behind the cladding.
Not every gutter problem needs a new gutter. What decides it is the condition of the trough, the hangers and the board behind them.
We photograph what we find before recommending either. More on the work itself on our Knoxville gutter page.

A seamless gutter is formed from coil at your house, to the length of the run. The only joints are at the corners and the outlets, instead of one every ten feet or so. Joints are where sealant eventually fails, so a sectional run usually starts leaking at the seams first. That is the practical difference — fewer places to fail, not a different metal.
It also means the run matches the roofline rather than the stock lengths, which matters on the longer elevations around Corryton where a sectional run would need several joints to cover the same span.
Colors are matched to the siding and trim rather than left as a contrasting band along the eave.
A gutter hangs on the fascia. When a run has been overflowing for a season or two, the water goes behind it and the board softens — and a hanger screwed into softened wood has nothing to hold. That is why the fascia gets checked before anything new goes up, not after.
The soffit underneath is the intake side of the attic ventilation. On the older housing around Corryton it is often wood that has been painted over several times, which closes the vent area without anyone noticing. A ridge vent above a blocked soffit moves very little air.
Where the work is the roofline rather than the gutter, that is its own job: see soffit and fascia repair. Where rot turns up once the old gutter is off, it is documented with photographs and priced in a written Change Order before the new run goes up.

A guard cuts how often a trough has to be cleared. That is what it does, and on a wooded Corryton lot it can be worth it. What it does not do is make a gutter bigger.
So we look at the tree cover over that particular roof and at the sizing first, then say whether protection is worth adding. More on the options on our gutter guard installation page.
Gutter work is priced by the linear foot, measured around your roofline rather than estimated from the floor plan. These are our published Selling Prices:
| Item | Selling Price |
|---|---|
| Seamless gutter | $15.25 per linear foot |
| Downspout | $15.25 per linear foot |
| Each elbow | Counted as 1 linear foot |
| Technical Assessment | $350, credited back in full |
What that figure is and is not. It is one price per linear foot. It does not change with trough width, so a six-inch run is not quoted at a premium and a five-inch run is not quoted as a saving — the width follows the roof, not the invoice. Elbows are counted as a foot each rather than billed as separate fittings.
Quoted separately, because they depend on what we find: leaf protection, repairs to an existing run, fascia replacement where the board has gone soft, and cleaning. We do not publish a figure for those, because the figure depends on your roofline.
On-site estimates are free for standard gutter work. The $350 Technical Assessment applies to complex inspections — active water damage, previous repair work, or conditions we cannot verify from the ground — and is credited back in full if you move forward.
A full gutter system is a smaller job than a roof, but it often lands at the same time as one. Financing runs through our lending partner, so the sizing and the fascia work get done properly rather than trimmed to fit a cash figure.
Applications are reviewed by the lender. Approval, terms, and rates are set by them, not by us.
Real MI projects across our East Tennessee service area. Photographs are of our own work; we do not label a photo with a town unless we can verify where it was taken.

Coil goes through the machine in the van and comes out as one continuous run, cut to the length of that elevation.

Set so water runs to the outlets rather than standing in the trough, with the drip edge landing inside the gutter.

Outlet, elbow and downspout run placed to carry water away from the wall instead of dropping it at the footing.
That is usually capacity rather than a blockage: too much roof draining into one run, or too few outlets for the water arriving. Cleaning will not change it and neither will a guard. The fix is in the outlet count or the trough size, which is why we measure the contributing roof area first.
Maybe. Six-inch with larger outlets earns its place where a large or steep roof area concentrates into one run, or where the run is long and the outlets are few. Plenty of Corryton homes are well served by five-inch with the outlets in the right places. The contributing roof area settles it, not a preference for the wider trough.
Seamless gutter and downspout are $15.25 per linear foot, with each elbow counted as a foot. The total comes from the linear feet measured around your roofline and the number of downspouts the roof needs. Leaf protection, repairs, fascia replacement and cleaning are quoted separately because they depend on what we find.
It cuts how often the trough has to be cleared, which on a wooded lot is worth something. It does not make a gutter bigger, and fine grit and shingle granules still get through most guards and settle in the trough, so a guarded gutter still needs checking.
It gets replaced before the new run goes up, because a hanger screwed into soft wood has nothing to hold. If we find it once the old gutter is off, it is documented with photographs and priced in a written Change Order before the work continues.
Corryton is unincorporated Knox County, so anything that does need a permit goes through Knox County Codes Administration rather than a town office. Replacing gutters on an existing home is normally maintenance rather than permitted work; where a job turns into fascia or structural repair we confirm what the address requires before the proposal goes out.
Our workmanship warranty covers how the system was installed — the hanger spacing, the fall, the outlet locations and the sealed joints. It runs one year on a repair and five years on a complete replacement. The gutter material carries its own manufacturer coverage, which is separate from our labor.
We install, repair and replace gutters across Corryton — from the older housing out toward House Mountain to the newer streets — and in the neighboring communities we already serve: Halls Crossroads, Maynardville, Luttrell, Blaine and Powell, with broader exterior remodeling service across Knoxville and East Tennessee.
Working on more than the gutters? Our Corryton exterior contractor page covers the whole exterior, and there are dedicated pages for roofing in Corryton and siding in Corryton.
If your gutters are overflowing, sagging, leaking at the seams or putting water where the foundation is, we will measure the roof that drains into them and tell you plainly what it needs. On-site estimates are free for standard gutter work.
