Mel was so easy to work with. We had him out because we needed to figure out how to fix a roof leak where the flashing wasn't done right (and part of the siding was also not right). He did a thorough inspection and explained to me what issues he saw. His quote was similar to the other we got. We ended up having him put on a new roof, with a new under shingle ventilation system and a roof vent. He also corrected siding issues (and flashing), fixed some rotten trim, and repainted part of the siding and trim. Everything looks great! His crews were very nice. Of all the contractors we've worked with on various renovations, Mel was easily one of the best at quickly responding when we had a question or saw an issue we wanted handled differently. We'll definitely hire him again if we need roof or siding work!Posted on Google![]()

Mel and his team were extremely thorough in identifying and correcting a water leakage problem from the top of our deck into the enclosed sun room below. They were both professional and courteous and provided great follow up after the job was completed. I highly recommend MI Homesiding & Roofing for any problem that involves water leakage into your home. I will definitely use MI in the future.Posted on Google![]()

Highly recommend MI Homesiding! They completed a major home exterior project for us including replacing and painting our siding as well as replacing our roofing and gutters. They did an excellent job and we began getting compliments immediately from our neighbors about it! Mel was very communicative and proactive, listened to our questions and ideas, and took care of things in a timely manner. His team was always professional and the work is just superb! We not only recommend MI Homesiding, we will be using them again for future projects ourselves.Posted on Google![]()

I found MI Homesiding & Roofing through their YouTube channel and called with a few questions about siding. Even though I’m not located in Tennessee and wouldn’t be hiring them directly, they answered the phone right away and took the time to answer every question in detail. They provided specific, helpful information and even assisted me in finding a contractor in my area. It’s rare to find a company so willing to help someone who isn’t even a local customer. Awesome people, excellent service, and truly knowledgeable. Thank you so much!Posted on Google![]()

Exceptionally pleased with entire process and results. Most professional estimate I received, good communication, timely, and did what they said they would. Building looks exceptional. I highly recommend Mel and his crew,Showing only 5 star reviews
Maryville has one of the most varied housing stocks in East Tennessee.
The historic homes in downtown Maryville often have original wood siding, cedar accents, or 70s vinyl re-covers that hide decades of moisture damage underneath.
Newer subdivisions toward Alcoa and the foothills face a different problem — rushed installation, tight panels, and flashing that fails after the first wet season.
We install and repair siding on both kinds of homes — and the approach is completely different for each.

Siding replacement, repair and rot correction for Maryville homes — from the historic downtown houses hiding wood under newer vinyl to the seventies and eighties streets where the trim gives out first.
We provide complete siding services across Maryville and Blount County:

The most common siding problems we see across Maryville:
Historic downtown homes: original wood siding with hidden rot under newer vinyl re-covers, failed flashing around chimneys, and trim damage from decades of humidity.
70s–90s neighborhoods: aging vinyl that has faded, warped, or cracked. Soft trim around windows from years of caulking failure.
Foothills and Alcoa-area subdivisions: improper installation, gaps behind J-channels, and tight panels installed without expansion gaps.

Maryville sits between Knoxville and the Smoky Mountains foothills.
That position means heavier rainfall, stronger mountain wind patterns, and humidity that lingers longer than in flatter parts of East Tennessee — all of which push siding installation details harder.
We install with proper house wrap, flashing at every transition, correct fastener spacing for expansion, and material choices matched to each home's exposure.

A low siding quote in Maryville usually means cuts the homeowner cannot see.
Cheap installs skip flashing tapes, ignore moisture barriers, use weak fastening, and treat every house the same — regardless of age, exposure, or condition.
The house looks fine the day the crew leaves. The next storm or humid summer exposes the shortcuts.
Most of the siding jobs we redo in Maryville started as a cheap install from another contractor who never addressed the real cause. See our improper siding installation repair page for more.

Maryville homes range from 100-year-old downtown houses to brand-new builds in the foothills. Each needs a different siding approach.
We provide owner-led inspections, itemized estimates, and root-cause repairs. Our team works across Maryville, Alcoa, Friendsville, and the rest of Blount County, backed by more than 20 years of hands-on construction and exterior remodeling experience.

A wide span of housing ages in one market, from pre-war in-town homes to recent subdivisions.
What the written estimate itemizes. Square footage by elevation, the product line and profile by name, the weather-resistive barrier, flashing at every opening and transition, trim, fasteners, caulking and finish, an allowance for sheathing repair, and removal and disposal of the existing cladding. Where two siding quotes differ sharply, the gap is almost always in the barrier, the flashing and the sheathing allowance.
How long it takes. A typical full siding replacement may take about one to two weeks of working time, depending on home size, material, weather, access, hidden damage and project scope. That is an expectation rather than a guarantee, and we do not promise a fixed completion date.
Two warranties, not one. The manufacturer covers the product and we cover the installation. Our workmanship warranty is a one-year limited warranty on siding work, and five years on a full James Hardie replacement. We publish both rather than one blanket figure.
Paying for it. Financing options may be available through a third-party financing partner, subject to approval and the provider’s terms. We are not the lender.

Yes. We have experience with the older homes around downtown Maryville and the historic districts. These houses often have hidden damage under newer siding layers — we inspect carefully and replace what is actually failing, not just what shows from the street.
Yes. Alcoa is right next to Maryville and shares the same housing patterns and weather exposure. We work across both cities and the rest of Blount County.
Yes. On-site siding estimates are free for standard projects across Maryville. For complex inspections involving older homes or suspected hidden damage, we offer a $350 Technical Assessment that is credited back if you move forward with the project.
If we find rot, damaged sheathing, or moisture damage behind the existing siding, we stop and document it with photos. We explain the scope and provide a written Change Order before continuing. Hidden damage is documented and priced in a written Change Order before any new material goes over it.
Yes. We document hail and wind damage clearly, provide accurate material takeoffs, and work alongside your insurance adjuster on siding claims.
Service life depends on the specific product, the quality of the installation, how water is managed behind the wall, exposure and maintenance more than on the material name. What is documented is warranty coverage: James Hardie carries a 30-year limited non-prorated warranty and LP SmartSide a 5/50 limited warranty, while generic vinyl, cedar and metal products vary by manufacturer. Maryville's foothills humidity and mountain wind can shorten service life if installation details are skipped.
If your Maryville home has loose panels, leaks, rotted trim, or original siding from decades ago, now is the time to act.
